Zardari directs to prepare plan to compensate Party workers

Co-chairman PPP, Asif Ali Zardari has directed provincial party leaders to prepare a plan to compensate Party workers who laid down their lives or suffered in other ways during 1996 to 2008. The plan has been proposed by PPP Punjab Information Secretary Farzana Raja while the Co-chairman directed will document a brief resume of the workers, their family background and sacrifices rendered for democracy and the cause, a PPP leader said. Meanwhile, a mechanism would also be devised to ensure worker’s easy approach to Party’s Ministers and public office holders. Zardari also assured the leaders that future government would approve the project of providing gas to the local population within a radius of five kilometres from gas fields in the Gujar Khan district.
