Eleven terrorists, two soldiers killed in Mohmand

A fierce gunbattle between security forces and insurgents in Baizai tehsil of Mohmand tribal region on Monday night left 11 militants and two soldiers dead.Separately three security personnel were injured in a landmine explosion in Safi area on Tuesday. Sources said a vehicle carrying soldiers was hit by a landmine near Khazina, causing injuries to three soldiers.

Terrorists attacked a check post in Baidmani area of Baizai tehsil on Monday night, triggering an attack by security forces in which 11 militants and two soldiers were killed and two others injured. Independent sources, however, said that seven militants were killed in the clashes.

Authorities have arrested three tribesmen under collective responsibility clause of the Frontier Crimes Regulation. Troops also set on fire houses of three suspects in the Chinari area.
