UN delegation meets district government officials

A United Nations delegation held a meeting with EDOs and DOs of the district government at Darbar Hall here on Monday. The delegation on Emergency Rehabilitation Coordination Unit of the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) comprised Dr Neil Mansand, Dr Jim Hancock, Dr Syed Sajiddin Hussain and Jeevan Das. The delegation members said the government was seriously thinking to establish a Disaster Management Plan in every district to avoid natural disasters, including earthquakes, flood and others.
They added that the UN could implement those plans. Consultant Fida Hussain Soomro said they had made a draft of the Disaster Management Plan and forwarded it to the District Nazim Badin for approval
