UK tightens visa rulesPeople, who make fraudulent applications for UK visas will be automatically refused and will be banned from applying for a visa for ten years, the British Government announced on Friday. The tough new rules, which apply throughout the world with immediate effect, mean that anyone who makes false representations or uses false documents, or fails to disclose material facts in their application, will automatically be refused a UK visa. The rules apply even if the deception occurs without the knowledge of the applicant. In addition, from April, any applicant who has tried to cheat the system in a previous visa application will be barred from applying for a UK visa for ten years.
Welcoming the move, British Acting High Commissioner Ray Kyles said, “Fraud is a major problem, which we are determined to tackle. These new rules show that we will not tolerate anyone trying to cheat the system, and that the only way to get a UK visa is the genuine way.”-PR
