Three killed in poll clash between PPP and PML-Q: police
At least three people, two of them supporters of Pakistan peoples party (PPP), were killed in violence related to the upcoming polls, a senior police official said on Friday.
Eight others were wounded in the two incidents in Sindh involving supporters of PPP and the Pakistan Muslim League-Q party (PML), Shaukat Shah, a senior police official, told AFP.
In one clash in the province’s Dadu town, the PPP and PML supporters exchanged strong words and then gunfire, leaving a 14-year-old boy passing by and a PPP supporter dead, Shah said. Five others were injured in that incident.
Police and paramilitary forces were guarding the areas, Shah said.
“We have got the situation under control and also talked to the leaders of the two parties to help us maintain law and order,” he said.
