Strong policies against int’l market crisis needed
State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Governor, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar has said that all the countries together would have to formulate tough policies for the resolution of the existing international market crisis.Shamshad Akhtar, in her key-address on the topic of Recent Asian Development and the Central Banks’ Role’ on the occasion of Asian Development Bank (ADB) Annual General Meeting, told this, private TV reported.She said that the slow pace of the US and the European economies impacts were being felt in Asia and the Central Banks of the Asian countries were facing difficulties in maintaining the economic growth and controlling inflation.The current account deficits of these countries were mounting due to oil price-hikes and daily use items getting costlier besides it was also triggering depreciation of their currencies, but Asian countries exports were rising by over 10 percent due to emerging new markets.
