Moises Henriques fights but India thumps Australia by 8 wickets

India defeat Australia by 8 wickets in the 1st Test of the Border-Gavaskar trophy at the MA Chidambaram Ground, Chennai to go one up in the series.

On the 5th and last day of the Test match Australia could only add a more 9 runs to their overnight score of 232 and were all out for 241 leaving India to get only 50 runs for success. M.Henriques remained unbeaten on a fighting 81 to go with his 1st innings effort of 68.

Ashwin was yet again the destroyer in chief sending back 5 Aussie batsmen while conceding 95 runs. He also took 7-103 in the 1st innings giving him a match haul of 12-198. India scored the needed 50 runs in only 11.3 overs losing both the openers during the process.

The 2nd Test of the series will be played at Hyderabad from March 2nd.
