Pakistan Muslim League-Q President Ch Shujaat Hussain has expressed his concern over allegations by India and warned the Indian government and officials not to invoke emotions.

Addressing an emergency news conference on Saturday at his residence, he demanded Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani summon an all parties’ conference over the current situation.

Shujaat said that Prime Minister Gillani had telephoned him and he as head of the PML-Q had assured him full support. Indian allegations against Pakistan regarding attacks on the Samjhota Express and the Indian parliament were also unjustified, he said.

The PML-Q leader said that involvement of the Indian army officials and its intelligence agencies had exposed Indian claims. He also called upon the international community to play it due role in defusing tensions. “It could well be an Indian election stunt by the ruling party,” Shujaat said while referring to the Congress party.

Shujaat lauded the governments’ decision to not to send the ISI chief to India.

The PML-Q leader said the government should have re-structured the National Security Council instead of abolishing it.
