Shuhada-e-Lal Masjid conference for women begins

The Shuhada-e-Lal Masjid Conference for Women has begun at the site of the demolished Jamia Hafsa here on Wednesday (today) in connection with the first anniversary of Lal Masjid operation.

The conference has been organized by Lal Masjid administration. Former students of Jamia Hafsa and women from different walks of life are present at the event, the organizers said.

Additional Deputy Commissioner General Rana Akbar Hayat, SP Kamran Adil and other senior officials visited the venue of the conference to review the security arrangements.

The Islamabad administration has made foolproof security arrangements for the conference, Rana Akbar Hayat told reporters. He said he met the administration of Lal Masjid and assured them about provision of facilities including potable water. The Islamabad Traffic Police have devised a traffic plan to facilitate the residents during the conference.
