Senior journalist Dr. Chishti Mujahid gunned down

Unknown armed persons gunned down senior journalist Dr. Chishti Mujahid here in Satellite Town on Saturday.

An unknown assailant opened fire on Chishti Mujahid when he was getting in his car along with his wife here at his residence, police said.

Chishti sustained fatal bullet wounds on his temple and neck. He was being rushed to a hospital but he succumbed to his injuries before reaching there.

The attacker fled on foot immediately after the incident.

His body was shifted to the Civil Hospital for autopsy.

Dr. Chishti Mujahid was an eye-specialist and also associated with a weekly “Akhbar-e-Jehan” and used to write “Quetta Ki Diary” for the magazine.

The police arrived at the site of the incident after a lapse of one and a half hour.

The funeral prayer of the deceased will be offered after Zohar prayers after which he will be buried in Satellite Town graveyard.
