Safar moon sighted

Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Pakistan, Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman has announced the sighting of moon on Friday and said that Safar 1, 1429 will be on Saturday, corresponding with February 9, 2008. He made this announcement after presiding over a meeting of Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee at Habib Bank Plaza here. Other members of the Central Committee Mufti Muhammad Rafiq Hasni, Maulana Shabbir Ahmad Azhari, Maulana Raza-ul-Mustafa Azmi, Maulana Asad Devbandi, Maulana Hafiz Salfi, Maulana Qari Bashir Naqshbandi and Maulana Qazi Ahmed Naeemi also attended the meeting.

Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman said that scores of verifications of moon sighting were received from Karachi, Islamabad, Peshawar, Faisalabad, Naushki, Rahimyar Khan, D.G. Khan and other cities and towns, by the committee.
