An Anti Terrorist Court here on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of Sabzazar police encounter case against Mian Shahbaz Sharif till January 12, 2008.An Anti Terrorist Court here on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of Sabzazar police encounter case against Mian Shahbaz Sharif till January 12, 2008.

The former CM Punjab, Mian Shahbaz Sharif, did not appear before the court while his counsel Imtiaz Ahmad Kaifi requested to exempt Shahbaz Sharif from appearing in court at every hearing.

Shabbir Hussain Chattha, the ATC Judge accepted the attendance of Shahbaz Sharif’s counsel only for today, and adjourned the case till January 12, while ordering the defendant to appear in the court on the next hearing.

The SHO Sabzazar police also submitted the challan of the said case before the court.

Earlier, the ATC had granted bail to Mian Shehbaz Sharif in the said case on December 8.

The incident of the killing of five persons during the police encounter in Sabzazar area occurred on April 4 1998, and the FIR was registered against 13 persons on March 29 2001.
