The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), President, Shahbaz Sharif took oath as member Punjab Assembly here on Friday. The Speaker Punjab Assembly, Rana Muhammad Iqbal, administered oath to the newly elected MPA. Meanwhile, Shahbaz Sharif speaking to journalists outside the assembly premises said that their relations with President would be entirely within the ambit of the constitution. He appreciated the CM Punjab Dost Muhammad Khosa for his services. He vowed to participate in each programme aimed at restoration of judiciary and said that they were determined to make the country citadel of Islam. Shahbaz said they did not accept PCO judges at all as was clarified in the Charter of Democracy. Speaking on the occasion, the CM Punjab said that though there was no consensus on the Kalabagh Dam among the provinces, yet its one-sided shelving was improper.
Replying to a question on his future role, he said it was up to the party to decide about it. The PML-N Punjab, President, Sardar Zulifqar Khosa on the occasion denied that there was any political linkage with PML-Q. Earlier, on a resolution moved by a minister, prayers were offered in the house for MPA Rana Tariq Mahmood who died in a road accident recently.
Another resolution by a minister calling for restoration of Punjab Assembly membership with Commonwealth Parliamentary Association was also passed by the House. Four bills were also presented before the House by Law Minister, Rana Sanaullah. All the ordinances were referred to Special Committees.
