Qureshi grieved over loss of life in Cuba

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Wednesday expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and destruction in Cuba due to hurricane ‘Ike’.

In a message to his Cuban counterpart Filipe Perez Roque, Foreign Minister Qureshi said, “On behalf of the government of Pakistan and on my own behalf, I wish to convey our heartfelt sympathies and condolences.”

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the affected families and the government and people of Cuba,” he said.

Qureshi hoped that the resilient Cuban people would brave this terrible natural calamity with strength and fortitude and recover in the shortest possible time.
