PTCL employees extend deadline for demands

PTCL employees have extended the deadline for approval of their demands but warned the government that in case of crackdown the employees would bring the telecommunication system to a halt.

The announcement made by Rana Hassan, the General Secretary of the PTCL Muttahida Workers Alliance, while talking to media after negotiations with a delegation of the government.

A government delegation comprised of four ministers and the secretaries has requested for two more days to consider over the demands of the employees, the union official said.

The representatives of employees after holding consultation have decided to extend the deadline for 48 hours, he further said.

The employees however warned the government that in case of crackdown the employees would bring the telecommunication system to a halt and the government will be responsible for it.
