President performs Umrah, prays for country’s progress

President Asif Ali Zardari performed Umrah early on Wednesday morning and prayed for Pakistan’s prosperity, solidarity and sought Allah Almighty’s blessings to enable the country meet the several challenges it was confronting.

President Zardari is here on a two-day visit earlier held talks with the Saudi leaders on wide ranging issues. Accompanied by his entourage the President arrived in Makkah late night.

He also offered the Fajr prayers and special nawafil to pray for peace and security of the country in the wake of serious threats the country was facing from extremist and terrorist elements.

The president also sought Allah’s blessing in helping the country come out of the financial crisis it was facing. A large number of Pakistanis who were at the Haram Sharif greeted and waved to the president.

The President will later pay his respects at the Roza-e-Rasool (Peace be upon Him) and offer Maghrib prayers.
