PPP ‘offers’ Balochistan governorship to JUI

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Wednesday said there is a positive development in dialogue with Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Muslim League-N regarding formation of coalition government in Centre and Balochistan. He was addressing a news conference after the ‘Rabta Committee’ meeting of his party in Islamabad. Fazal said that there was a positive development in his meeting with PPP and PML-N for government formation. Earlier, PPP leader Khursheed Shad also held meeting with JUI leadership. Pakistan Peoples Party has offered governorship of Balochistan and some other ministries to the JUI. JUI chief said that he has no contact with PML-Q leader Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain. However, he admitted that he has contacts with PPP and PML-N on the issue of formation of government. Answering a question Fazal said that his party had always supported the change in the name of NWFP province to ‘Pakhtoonkhawah’ and in future would continue to support any motion regarding the name of NWFP. Fazal said that PPP has assured him full support on the royalty of gas and electricity issues to the provinces.
