Power crisis has worsened as load-shedding duration has been increased again due to shortfall of 2000 megawatts.

According to Pakistan Power Electric Supply Corporation (PEPCO) officials, power demand has jumped to 16000 megawatt due to decrease in hydel production while overall power generation is about 14,000 megawatt.

PEPCO officials said power cut would be reduced to a certain level during Eid holidays owing to less power demand for commercial and industrial sectors.

Meanwhile, load-shedding duration would be increased again after Eid and ruled out any possibility of improvement till the improvement of weather. Due to power shortage, four to six hours’ power cut is being observed in all large cities including Lahore.

On the other hand, people have complained about power outage during Sehr and Iftar timings.
