Polls closed in Pakistan on Monday in a crucial general election that could determine the political fate of President Pervez Musharraf, an election commission official said.

“Polling has come to an end. It was orderly and peaceful in most parts,” Election Commission Secretary Kanwar Dilshad told AFP.
