Polling begins to elect speaker and deputy speaker

Polling has begun to elect new speaker and deputy speaker of National Assembly here on Wednesday.Polling for both the offices are being held through secret ballot.
Outgoing speaker National Assembly Chaudhry Amir Hussain presiding the session. Pakistan Peoples Party has nominated Dr Fehmida Mirza for the speaker and Faisal Karim Kundi for deputy speaker whereas opposition has nominated Israr Tareen newly elected candidate from Balochistan for the speaker and Khushbakht Shujaat contesting for deputy speaker. Stern security measures have been taken around Parliament House and other adjoining areas. Three checking circles have been established for checking purpose.
