Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said yesterday that Tahir ul Qadri was looking for a way out of the long march under the pretext of his arrest ahead of the latter’s planned rally on Jan. 14.
“Even in a case where Tahir ul Qadri and his companions come to us to offer their arrest, we’d not take them into custody,” Rana Sanaullah said reacting to a statement of Tehreek Minhajul Quran chief Tahirul Qadri.
Rana mentioned that speculation of stopping and harassing transporters were being circulated but, added that the Punjab govt had no such purpose.
However, he warned that a risk of a terrorist act always looms over massive public crowds.
