PML-Q ready to sit on opposition benches: Shujaat
Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has said his party has the roots in all parts of the country and that they have won from all over the country and are ready to sit in the opposition to play a positive role. His comments came in a press conference where party candidates who contested the election were also present.
He denied claims that his party had lost the elections because of President Pervez Musharraf’s policies. He criticised Nawaz Sharif, saying he won the elections by using the slogan of restoration of the judiciary and now he has started thinking of how he would set about to restore them, though he would do otherwise.
He also said none of his party members would join the Pakistan Muslim League (N) and they would never enter a coalition with the PML-N despite his party’s defeat. He then congratulated the candidates. “We accepted the results, and will play a positive role,” he added.
