PML-Q happy to stay in opposition: Shujaat
Pakistan Muslim League (Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain Saturday said his party is not making any effort to be inducted in the government; they would sit in opposition, rather. Addressing press briefing after his party meeting at Muslim League House in Islamabad here, he said this is first time in Pakistan history that a losing party accepted the elections results, adding his party would be a vibrant opposition with fortitude and forbearance. Chaudhry Shujaat said his party is making an effort to form the government in Balochistan, adding his party would focus on politics of issues leaving behind confrontation and negative politics. PML-Q President added, ‘We will keep reminding the ruling parties of their pledges.” ‘Some candidates from Sindh lodged complaints regarding rigging, for which a committee headed by SM Zafar has been formed; the committee will review these complaints and later on contact the election commission,’ Ch Shujaat maintained.
Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said the meeting of the parliamentary party would be held afterwards, where parliamentary leaders would be chosen, adding, ‘we will not chose a parliamentary leader that is not a member of assembly, as PML-N did for Nawaz Sharif.’
Pervaiz Elahi said the flour crisis did not emerge in his tenure; there was mismanagement during term of caretaker government.
Responding a query, Chaudhry Shujaat said none of his party member is quitting the party.![]()
