Pakistan Muslim League N has expressed reservations over the nomination of Amin Fahim as head of the coalition government, saying that he has been in contact with President Musharraf. Talking to Aaj TV, PML-N leader Khwaja Asif said that Makhdoom Amin Fahim had met president Musharraf on December 27, 2007, the day Benazir Bhutto was assassinated. “He has been meeting Musharraf even after December 27,”Asif asserted, saying he (Fahim) has not the “ability to play a decisive role”. He said although PPP have the right to nominate its candidate for primership, but we have apprised PPP about our reservations. He maintained that PPP would consider PML-N reservations prior to nominate its prime ministerial candidate. Meanwhile, Makhdoom Amin Fahim denied Khwaja Asif’s assertion that he met president on December 27 as mere accusation and based on “ill intention”. Talking in Aaj TV’s talk show programme, Bolta Pakistan, he said that he had lodged strong protest with Asif Ali Zardari and Shahbaz Sharif over Khawja Asif’s allegation. He said Benazir and Asif Zardari were well aware about his meetings with President Musharraf.
