Petition against Sana admitted for hearing

Lahore High Court has admitted for hearing, a petition against Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan and issued notices to the respondent for submission of reply. Haji Ismail Seela, the rival candidate of Rana Sana from the constituency PP-70 Faisalabad from where Sanaullah was elected MPA in recent by-elections, filed petition challenging the election result.

The petitioner alleged that the respondent rigged the polls by using the state machinery and also used abusive language for the judiciary during his campaign. He also alleged that according to the election rules, Rana Sanaullah being a minister was not allowed to contest the polls but he participated and won the election.

The court on Friday, after hearing the arguments of the petitioner ordered to issue admit notice to the respondent for submission of his reply in this regard and adjourned the hearing till sine die.
