Peace can be restored if army refuses to own war on terror: Qazi

Leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Qazi Hussain Ahmad said that peace could be restored in the country if Pak army refused to own war on terror.

Talking to a private TV channel, he said that the government should ask USA that it will not support its policies and can not fight against its own people as it is their war.

About in-camera joint session he said that they had never demanded an in-camera briefing.

Qazi Hussain Ahmed said that he had not refused to join in-camera briefing as the senior people of JI like Professor Khurshid Ahmad, Professor Ibrahim, Dr Kausar Firduous and Professor Dr. Muhammad Syed were present there.

He said that briefing contains far less information than the briefing which had been given to senior journalists.

“I think that briefing has been given to senior journalists for propaganda purposes as it showed Sirajul Haq leading funeral in Bajaur”.

He said those arranged briefing tried to implicate Jamaat-e-Islami in the issue by circling the photograph of a few militants in funeral prayer along with Sirajul Haq.
