Parts of country continue to receive rains, likely to intensify todayThe spell of rains, which had struck NWFP province, Azad Kashmir, Northern Areas, upper and southern Punjab and north-east Balochistan, continued with no respite and is likely to intensify after evening today.

Metrological Department recorded rains during the last 24 hours 15mm in Quetta, 12mm in Muzaffarabad, 13mm in Balakot, 8mm in Murree, 6mm in Khuzdar, 5mm in Qalat, 6mm in Chitral and Kakul, 7mm in Dir and 6mm in Jauharabad.

Islamabad witnessed sporadic rains since yesterday, which is likely to continue today also and it might intensify in the night. Met. Office said that snowfall in Murree persisting, where the minimum temperature recorded at –6 degree centigrade, while the hilly places at high altitudes in Azad Kashmir and Northern Areas continued to receive snowfalls, which was likely to linger on for the next 24 hours.
