Parliament in-camera session resumes today

The in-camera joint sitting of the Parliament on the national security issues would resume on Tuesday at 11:00 am here with Speaker national Assembly Dr Fehmida Mirza in chair.

The members of Pakistan Muslim League-Q on Monday protested against registration of Karsaz tragedy case against Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi. PML-Q parliamentarians Faisal Saleh Hayat and Kamil Ali Agha termed the case political victimization of the opponents.

The members staged token walkout from the parliament and brought back to the session by the federal minister Khurshid Ahmed Shah, Advisor Interior Rehman Malik and Khwaja Saad Rafique of Pakistan Muslim League-N.

Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani assured the parliament that the government could not think about victimization of the political opponents.

He said that Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has not been booked in Karsaz tragedy case.

The opposition members of the parliament during the closed door proceedings of the session demanded consensus on the security policy.
