Papers for speaker, deputy speaker submitted
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and opposition parties have submitted nomination papers of their candidates for speaker and deputy speaker of National Assembly on Tuesday. The final list would be issued today and elections would be held tomorrow.
PPP leaders Khurshid Shah, Raja Pervez Ashraf , Sherry Rehman and others reached assembly to file the nomination papers of Dr. Fahmida Mirza and Faisal Karim Kundi. Faisal Karim Kundi had defeated Maulana Fazul Rehman in general elections. Candidate for speaker Dr. Fahmida Mirza while talking to media said that she has three years experience for being in opposition and therefore would not have any difficulty to run the House. Pakistan Muslim League- Q and collation parties candidate for speaker and deputy speaker and Israr Tareen and Khushbakht Shujaat have filed their nomination papers in National Assembly secretariat. PML-Q leader Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and former Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervez Elahi was also present at this occasion. Chaudhry Shujaat said that if Peoples Party could not find suitable candidate for premiership, it would take our candidate Farooq Sattar. Chaudhry Pervez Elahi said that it is our wish that new govt should complete its tenure so that people would feel the difference between our government and the new government. PML-Q candidate for speaker Israr Tareen said that he would try to win the election.
