The fifth round of composite dialogues between Pakistan and India on foreign secretaries level will begin tomorrow here.
Foreign Secretary, Salman Bashir would discuss with his Indian counterpart matters relating to peace and harmony including confidence-building measures besides Jammu and Kashmir dispute. The two sides in their deliberations will focus on the options for the peaceful resolution of the lingering issues. Besides tangible measures for the promotion of bilateral co-operation, boosting trade, matters relating to traditional and nuclear weapons, control line and confidence building will also be reviewed. Working Group’s decisions taken in the meeting recently held at Islamabad will also be announced.
Earlier, Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Quraishi had held talks with the Indian Foreign Minister, Parnab Mukhurjee last month here on key-issues and matters relating to the peace process, when some important decisions were proposed. This talk is being held at a time, when the Indian government is facing opposition’s no confidence motion on the issue of India-US civil nuclear agreement.
