NAB rejects Khalid’s requestThe National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has rejected to meet a demand by Punjab Governor Khalid Maqbool to provide detailed information about the case of the sacked Bank of Punjab president, sources told Business Recorder on Tuesday. The revelation comes after Maqbool’s secretary had contacted NAB men to get details of irregularities shrouding former bank president Hamaish Khan case, but the bureau bluntly refused to do so. A high official of the law and litigation cell said the arrest could never be disclosed because if the department exposed it officials might be forced to bring him to the court in 24 hours. “Neither can we contradict nor confirm the arrest of the former president of (BoP),” said Bureau Prevention and Awareness Director Brigadier Farooq Hamid.
