Attorney General Malik Qayyum would resign from his office today on Wednesday.
While talking to Aaj tv, he said that he is resigning from his post today.
Regarding the resignation of former president Musharraf, Malik said he suggested him to resign from supreme authority or face the impeachment.
He further said that Musharraf resignation is a positive step for the betterment of country.
Qayyum was appointed by the former President Pervez Musharraf, last year. A few months back he had tendered his resignation but was asked to continue as Attorney General till further orders.
On Monday, right after the announcement of Pervez Musharraf resignation when asked Malik Qayyum about his plan, he said that he (Malik) will decide in next two days either to retain the office or resign.
Sardar Muhammad Latif Khan Khosa, a senior advocate of the Supreme Court is being appointed as Attorney General of Pakistan.
On Tuesday evening he confirmed the reports about his resignation. According to a senior official of the Ministry of Law and Justice, the summary for appointment of Sardar Latif Khosa as Attorney General has been approved and the notification will be issued shortly.
