The citizens here after having suffered the ordeals of flour shortage are now forced to stand in a long queue at the utility stores for buying ghee also and yet after waiting for hours return home empty handed.
Even women and children are seen queued up for prolonged hours for buying a can of ghee here. Citizens told Geo news that they were standing in the queue since 8.00 A.M. in the morning, while the utility stores management turned them down by 2.00 P.M. telling that stocks were exhausted and come tomorrow.
The customers blamed that the owners of utility stores, in nexus with the restaurants, shopkeepers and caterers, are selling the ghee and flour stock to them. On the other hand, utility stores said that the ghee stock soon exhausts because of the high demands. Complaints are being received from other towns also besides the provincial capital city here. Hundreds of men and women at Burewala staged demonstration at Karkhana Road and F Block protesting the non-availability of ghee, which led to the closure of the stores.
