Lahore amid entire Punjab in grip of torrential rains

Most of the cities of Punjab including the provincial capital city here remained in the grip of torrential rains.Met. Department said that the spate of rains was likely to continue in the next 24 hours also. The rain, which started Friday-Saturday midnight, continued lashing on Saturday also. Dark clouds since this morning kept hovering over the skies here, while the intermittent rain with thunder and lightning continued. Several roads of the city and low-lying areas stood submerged by the accumulated rainwater, while the weather turned pleasant. Met Department said that Lahore recorded 9 mm rain, Bhawalpur 34, Mianwali 71, D. G. Khan12 and Sialkot 7 mm of rains, while Mandi Bahauddin, Malikwal, Khushab, Kasur, Gujrat and Sheikhupura also witnessed rains.
