Karachi shopping centre blaze gutted 7 shops, godown

Seven carpet shops and a warehouse gutted in a shopping centre inferno at Buffer Zone area here. The fire suddenly broke out at 9.15 A.M. this morning in the shops on ground floor of a shopping centre located near Nagan Chowrangi at North Karachi. Three vehicles of the Fire Brigade, police and Rangers on information reaching the scene of incident found the fire blazing and called for more fire fighters, which struggled for two hours to bring it under control. Meanwhile, seven carpet shops and a godown burned up.
Shopkeepers Association said that the shutters of the shops were broken and these were put on fire. Town Nazim, Mumtaz Hameed suspected short circuit might have caused the fire, however, he said that investigations would be conducted to find the real cause of fire.
