Lawyers community observe ‘Youm-i-Iftikhar’

The lawyers’ community observed ‘Youm-i-Iftikhar’ in different part of the country on Tuesday. Rallies were held and banners were displayed with pro-Iftikhar slogans outside city court buildings.

Lawyers’ community in Karachi and across Sindh also observed ‘Iftikhar Day.’

The lawyers held a rally to observe the day in Multan. Pro-Iftikhar slogans were raised in rallies and banners in supporting lawyers’ movement of judges’ restoration were placed outside Multan High Court Bar Association’s building.

Besides, general body meeting of High Court bar chaired by its president Mahmood Ashraf Khan was also held in which it was said that restoration of other judges were meaningless without reinstatement of deposed chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.

They demanded of government to restore Iftikhar Chaudhry immediately. The High Court Bar passed a unanimous resolution barring those lawyers and member of Pakistan Bar Council to enter in the High Court Bar who were holding meetings with Chief Justice Abdul Hamid Dogar.

Lawyers, after the meeting, held a rally and chanted anti-government slogans.
