Leading Pakistani human rights activist Ansar Burney, was last night deported from
India back to
Dubai , because of a ‘look-out’ notice against him, sources said.
But the Home Ministry and Foreign Ministry say they don’t know why Burney was sent back and Home Ministry has ordered an inquiry into what is now being seen as an embarrassment.Burney, who was the human rights Minister in the interim government in
Pakistan , was deported back from the
Indira
Gandhi
International
Airport by an Emirates Airways flight at around 2030 hours, sources added. It was, however, not immediately clear who had issued the notice against him and in what connection. Some reports suggest it could be a mistake and could have been done at the level of the Foreigners Regional Registration office. Burney was instrumental in releasing Kashmir Singh, an Indian in
Pakistan jail and also in the recent developments in the Sarabjit Singh issue
