The government lacks the two-third majority required for the passage of the 18th constitutional amendment (package), said PML-N senior vice president Makhdoom Javed Hashmi here on Monday. Addressing a press conference at his residence he said the sword of article 58 (2) B is hanging over the government. The PML-N central leader said the party leadership had categorically told the Americans that Pakistan would not tolerate US interference in its internal affairs. He said the judiciary will be revived as per promise of the PML-N leadership and there is no backing out of it. He said his party would participate in the June 10 Long March of the lawyers that will kick off from Multan.Hashmi said that due to poverty, hunger, price hike, loadshedding and unemployment people are committing suicide. He warned if their problems are not solved and they are not meted out justice they themselves may get justice by force. He said the people’s courts have already started working in Karachi where dacoits were burnt alive. He said only an independent judiciary can guarantee the establishment of justice, which is a prerequisite for the prosperity of a nation.
