Godown gutted in Karachi SITE area

Clothes valued at millions of rupees were gutted as a factory godown in Karachi’s SITE area caught fire on Tuesday evening.

however, the fire brigade crew overcame the fire after struggling for four hours.

According to the fire brigade officials, the godown of a garments factory, situated at the plot number D-137 in SITE area caught fire at 4-00 pm on Tuesday and suddenly the smoke spread over the sky.

The cause of fire could not be ascertained as yet. According to preliminary reports, short circuit is being believed to have sparked it.

As soon the report was received, the fire brigade’s nine vehicles reached at the spot.

The fire brigade crew told Geo News that clothes and garments material in the basement and on the first floor of the factory were gutted and damaged.

The building was cordoned off and nobody was allowed to go inside by the security officials.
