ECP to decide general elections result notification date today

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will hold a meeting today (Saturday) to decide the date to issue the official notification of general elections winners.
The meeting would be chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Justice Qazi Muhammad Farooq and members of ECP would attend the meeting.
The general elections were held on Feb. 18. Initial results show that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) secured the most National Assembly seats. Due to complaints lodged by some political parties about rigging, repolling in some constituencies has been conducted.
Both PPP and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, led by former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, have urged the caretaker government to summon a National Assembly session as soon as possible.
