Drug Case against Zardari adjourned for May 19
Additional District & Session Judge, Malik Ejaz Hassan Awan Saturday adjourned a drug case against PPPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari after accepting an application by him seeking exemption from personal appearance.Khurram Latif Khosa, the counsel of Asif Zardari submitted that due to political engagements of Zardari he could not appear in the court, requesting that the court may grant him exemption from personal appearance for today.
The court accepted the application and adjourned the hearing till May 19 for further proceedings. According to prosecution, the drugs case against Asif Zardari was made in 1998 when he was already in police custody .The Qila Gujjar Singh Lahore police had arrested one Arif Baloch who during custody made a confessional statement that Zardari used to provide them drugs for sale.
