District govt to abolish in Punjab
PML-N led Punjab government has decided to abolish the district governments system in the province and would lay a bill in the provincial assembly in this regard.A senior minister in the Punjab government on the condition of anonymity said that the district government has failed to deliver empowerment to the common people. He said that the Punjab government would table an amendment bill in the house of Provincial Assembly for the amendment in the local government Act. In the second phase all district governments would be abolished and new election would be conducted, he added.
