Chief Justice of High Court of Sindh (SHC) Justice Muhammad Afzal Soomro on Friday sent a reference against puisne Judge Azizullah M. Memon to Chief Justice of Pakistan alleging misconduct on part of Justice Azizullah M. Memon.The copies of the letter were sent to President, Prime Minister, Attorney General, Senior Most Judge of Supreme Court.The CJ of SHC charged the senior most judge of ordering transfers and postings of more than 150 judicial officers on first day as Acting Chief Justice of SHC while Chief Justice Muhammad Afzal Soomro was off to Saudi Arabia to perform Umra.The reference also makes a mention to the order of a division bench headed by Justice Azizullah M. Memon in a High Court Appeal (HCA) filed by Hanif Merchant impugning an order passed by CJ in a Judicial Miscellaneous application filed by same person against Tessori Private Limited. The CJ of SHC in his reference states that overturning of his order shows incompetence, malafide and ulterior motives by Justice Azizullah M. Memon.The CJ also stated that Justice Khalid Ali Z. Kazi heard the case as company judge and as such he should not have heard the HCA.
