Chauhdry brothers displeased over rumors regarding party leadership

Central and provincial leadership of PML-Q has taken strict notice of the rumors from some party leaders regarding parting of Chauhdry brothers from party leadership , being replaced by Pervez Musharraf as the head of PML-Q.

While clarifying, they told that the purpose of meeting was just to organize and to motivate the PML-Q at district level before party elections in August 2009. In this regard meetings were held in Qasoor and Nankana Sahab in the supervision of Ch Pervaiz Elahi yesterday.

On the condition of anonymity, a PML-Q leader told that now the party meetings would be held progressively on district levels. “Actually Chauhdry brothers are annoyed at the conversations regarding change in party leadership”, he added.

He further told that those meetings were just a formality as these were only the part of campaign of Chauhdry brothers and their companions to hold the party elections before its time limit just to keep party leadership in their own hands.

Q-leader also pointed out that central and provincial elections for party leadership would likely to be held before the end of April 2009 or in May 2009.

Meanwhile, President PML-Q Punjab and former Chief Minister, Ch Pervez Elahi has said that they had elected Pervez Musharraf as a President of the country for five years, while he had resigned before completing his term due to the situations and in the interest of country.

“Political and journalistic divisions believe that declining in PML-Q reputation has been occurred due to Pervez Musharraf but we still respect him”, he added.

As for as advices given to Pervez Musharraf to be the party head are concerned, he said that according to the constitution of country and rules of PML-Q, Musharraf would have to wait for two years to join the politics.

He also said that those who were advising Pervez Musharraf to be the President of PML-Q were not loyal both to the party and Pervez Musharraf.
