Musharraf should accept rejection by nation, says FazalLeader of Jamiaat Ulama-i-Islam(JUI) Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman has said President Musharraf should accept that the nation has rejected him.
Talking to media after JUI meeting here on Saturday, Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman said that the meeting reviewed revival of Muttahida Majlis Amal(MMA) and vowed to support this platform if it would play active role in future.
Fazl-ur-Rehman said that if Jamaat-i-Islmai had not boycotted the polls, we would have been in process of making government in Frontier.
Commenting on President Musharraf’s remarks about defeat of extremists in current elections, Fazal said the President should accept that the nation has also rejected him and his supporters.

PPP and JUI-F agree on formation of consensus governmentJamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Saturday said that the Pakistan people’s Party and JUI-F had reached an agreement in principle to form the government of national consensus in the centre, Aaj TV reported on late Saturday night.
Talking to journalists at Zardari House after holding talks with PPP’s co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, the Maulana said that both parties had two rounds of negotiations so far and they agreed to continue the process to finalise the pact, TV channel added. “We want to be a part of a national government that ensures implementation of the Constitution in its own true spirit,” JUI-F chief said.

Election results appear to be NRO engineeredJamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Amir, Maulana Fazlur Rahman has said that the results of the elections appear to be National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) subjected, however, despite all the reservations, “He accepts the decision of the people”. In a statement issued from the JUI-F office here, he said that the defeat or victory happens in the election, but the results this time were such that the winners were more astonished than the losers and the apprehensions, which the JUI had expressed, have come to the fore loud and clear. Fazlur Rahman said that irregularities were committed openly in some of the constituencies, however, despite all the reservations, “He felicitates the People’s Party and Muslim League-N.” He said that his party believes in keeping the democratic process continuing and would keep playing its pertinent role in the parliament.

Fazl for free, fair pollsCentral Secretary General of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) Maulana Fazl ur Rehman has stressed the need for holding free, fair and transparent elections, saying impartial polls would have a positive impact on the country’s politics.
“I hope the elections would be fair,” Maulana, who is also the leader of Jamiat Ulema islam (F) told APP here.
Fazl hit out those political parties which have boycotted the elections and said it was imperative for the nation to cast vote.
“Constitution and democracy could only be safeguarded and restored when we go for polls” he said.
Maulana also called for bringing about positive change to involving the masses in political mainstream.
“We will win seats at the federal level, form government in NWFP and show our opponents that we believe in performance,” he added.

Fazal not part of MMA now: QaziMutahidda Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) chief Qazi Hussain Ahmad has said Maulana Fazal-ur-Rahman is not a part of the alliance now and pointed out that he was contesting elections from the platform of his party Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI) of which he is the head.

Addressing Peshawar District Bar here Tuesday, Qazi made it clear that Maulana Fazal-ur-Rahman is not a candidate of MMA, adding he is not the spokesman of the alliance.

He clarified that Fazal is only representing JUI.

He dubbed the forthcoming general elections in the country on February 18 as a farce and maintained that he did not see any light even after the election.

He expressed his determination to continue the movement for restoration of democracy even after the elections.

On this occasion he appealed to the people to take part in the movement and support his stand whole heartedly.

Qazi Hussain Ahmad reiterated his demand for restoration of all the sacked judges.

Dilating on the law and order situation in the NWFP and increasing incidents of suicide attacks, he said the silence of the Government on it is mysterious.

He held the view that US interest was behind the silence of the Government over the situation in the province.

Fazal urges UN to safe PakistanAmir JUI (F) Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman has said that the role of United Nations is crucial to safe the integrity of the country.

In a telephonic address to his workers on Tuesday, he said JUI is ready to sacrifice for the sake of the country.

‘US war against terrorism aimed at control the economy and natural resources of the region’, Fazal said. He said the resignation of Musharraf is vital to throw the USA from this area.

‘It is time for the unity of Ummah to get together on a single platform to control the US Presidential candidates who are using filthy language against Pakistan’, he said. He said the government to stop the interference of US in Pakistan.

Fazal-ur-Rehman said virtually there is no supremacy of constitution and Pervez Musharraf by violating the constitution put the security and sovereignty of the country at stake. He appealed to the people to vote those forces who are working for the progress and prosperity of the country.

Talking to mediamen at election office in Dera Ismail Khan, Fazl-ur-Rehman accused the government of creating a wheat and power crisis in the country just to divert people’s attention from the real issues.

Referring to Benazir’s assassination, the JUI-F leader criticized the government for naming Baitullah Mahsud as a possible suspect. He added that neither the PPP nor Baitullah Mahsud had yet accepted the government’s version of the truth.
