All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) heads’ meeting here underway is mulling over launching a movement against the government.
Sources said that Pakhtoonkhaw Milli Awami Party chief, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan’s Amir, Qazi Hussain Ahmad, Pakistan Tahrik-e-Insaf chairman, Imran Khan and chiefs of different organizations in APDM attending this meeting. The meeting will review the APDM steering committee’s recommendations relating to the outfit’s future strategy. APDM has decided supporting lawyers’ deadline set at August 14 for the reinstatement of judges and other announcements in this regard, which will be formally announced in the APDM chiefs’ meeting today. Sources said that APDM leaders are evaluating staging major political activities in Islamabad, holding rallies and mass contact movement on August 14, while inviting Muslim League-N to participate in anti-Govt. movement will also come under consideration.

The components of All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) will meet here on Monday to evolve future line of action, keeping in view the present political, security and economic situation. The meeting will be presided over by Mehmood Khan Achazai and heads of all the component parties would attend.

The chief of Tehrik-e-Insaf, Imran Khan, has come from London especially to attend this meeting. A leader of the alliance told Business Recorder that the leaders of the alliance would evolve an effective strategy after thorough discussion on the ongoing turmoil situation of law and order in the tribal areas and Balochistan, restoration of judges, worse economic situation and the power crisis.

The meeting would also decide whether the alliance should be part of the lawyers’ movement after lapse of the deadline on August 14 set by the legal fraternity for restoration of judges.

“The meeting is an important one, in the sense that it is going to take major decisions under the present uncertain situation as the rulers have shown complete apathy over the key national issues, leaving it sans leader by sitting abroad”, he said, adding that the masses “are in trauma” due to one after another worse political, economic and security crisis, and no one is here to address them.

The second day session of All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) conference began today (Thursday) with Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Chief Qazi Hussain Ahmed presiding over the session. Earlier yesterday, two sessions of the National Conference were held which was attended among others by the Convener APDM Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Qazi Hussain Ahmed, Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan, President High Court Bar Association Rawalpindi Sardar Asmat Ullah, Liaqat Baloch, Abdul Haye Baloch and General (R) Mirza Aslam Baig.

The Convener APDM said that national unity is essential to counter the challenges and all leaders must focus to resolve the problems through their wisdom.

Qazi Hussain Ahmed condemned the killing of innocent people in WANA, Balochistan and South Waziristan.

He criticised United States for interfering in internal affairs of Pakistan and termed American interference a root cause of all problems being faced by the country.

He said that lawyers and political leaders would have to find the solution to the judiciary crisis according to the aspirations of the people of Pakistan.

Imran Khan said that people had enthusiastically participated in the Long March but it is now up to the political leadership to fulfill their promises made with nation.

He said that people want restoration of judiciary adding that only justice can win the confidence of the people and bring relief in their lives.

Liaqat Baloch condemned the interference of the foreign elements in tribal areas and said situation at Pak-Afghan border is challenging for us.

A joint declaration will be announced today after mutual discussion among the participants of the conference.

Members of All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) are holding national conference here on Wednesday to decided future line of action of the party.

Meeting aimed to discus the political situation of the country, issue of restoration of deposed judges.

Activists working for the freedom of judiciary and media, missing person were also called to participate in the conference.

Conference aimed to sort out ways to overcome political and constitutional instability in the country and to decided future line of action.

Decisions are also expected to be taken to announce cross-country strikes and to initiate civil disobedience movement.

APDM leaders have given open invitation to ruling coalition to join the conference.
