IMF praised the Pakistani and Indian actions to boost bilateral trade, stating that it’ll really affect progress momentum.
Assistant Director IMF Laura Papi told journalists that the move alone wouldn’t be enough to help New Delhi return to high economic progress track.
“It would definitely have some positive effects. But not sufficient by itself to bring India back to 8 percent,” she said.
The official mentioned that some trade between India and Pakistan is probably at the moment intermediated by other states.
