CNG stations in numerous cities of Punjab remain shut down as gas supply has been limited because of the serious cold wave.
On Jan. 5, Sui Northern Gas Company had declared that gas supply to Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be suspended for an indefinite time, however CNG was not available prior to this notice.
In Lahore and Multan areas, CNG stations have been shut down for the past 9 days and public transport is hardly functional. Low gas pressure has also caused issues for commercial and residential customers.
CNG stations have been shut down in Bahawalpur for 15 days, Faisalabad 13 days and 11 days in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
A 48 hour closure of CNG stations in Sindh also started on today.
