Burney to visit India on April 2Former Federal Minister Ansar Burney, who was elected unopposed to UNHR Council’s Advisory Committee has been invited to India by the Chief Minister of Indian Punjab Sardar Parkash Singh Badal on an official visit. He is expected to cross into India through Wagah border on the April 2. During his visit will lobby for the release of Pakistani prisoners lodged in Indian jails. According to him there are as many as 46 Pakistani prisoners alone in Indian Punjab jails alone who had completed their jail term but not released. Burney said he would request the Indian government to release all such prisoners without delay and repatriate them.He is also expected to visit New Delhi and meet with senior members of the Indian Government and make request for the release of other Pakistani nationals lodged in prisons across India.
