Police arrest protesting young doctors in Lahore

The awesome excitement for the inauguration of the Metro Bus service was marred as the police chose this highly inappropriate time for a heavy handed crackdown against the quiet protesting young doctors.

The young doctors were dragged on the tracks and virtually dumped into the police vehicle arresting them.

Young Doctors Association (YDA) Punjab continued their hunger strike on 7th consecutive day.

The protesters had established their hunger strike camps and vowed to carry on their protest until all of their demands are met.

In protest to this crackdown, a spokesperson for the YDA announced that emergency services had been closed in hospitals across the province.
